I want to be influenced by the silence,
By the birds that fly above,
By the presence of God that surrounds,
By my grandmother's unselfish love.
I want to be influenced by the silence,
To give my soul time to scream,
To release the weight they gifted,
To process the unseen.
I want to be influenced by the silence,
For the ones who read my book,
For the ones who I've yet to meet,
For the ones that will choose to look.
I want to be influenced by the silence,
By the sun that sets into the ground,
By the sky that whispers patterns,
By the presence of God that surrounds.
